Kaworu simply goes to Terminal Dogma expecting to see Adam, but realises that the white giant is Lilith. In the Director's Cut version, this still happens, but now Kaworu knows that Adam is with Gendo and that the white giant therefore isn't Adam, but he still goes down there expecting to see Adam, and still realises that it is Lilith.

Kaworu found himself jealous of Rei However, Shinji had grown close to him though and felt betrayed when Kaworu attacked. After Kaworu died Shinji did admit he found himself attracted to Kaworu. May 8, 2013 · EoE: Kaworu is the embodiment of "love"/"like" ("suki" in Japanese), and he comes to live within Shinji (along with Rei, who is the embodiment of "understanding"). Kaworu helps Shinji realize that life is worth living, even if other people hurt us. Manga: Kaworu is a bit of an asshole, but this version clearly shows him as Rei's counterpart.
