Katana in CPM 3V: Forge or stock reduction? - BladeForums.com
Aug 23, 2010 · I’m making a non-traditional katana-style sword from CPM 3V and my priority is to make the blade as STRONG as possible. For strength and cutting power, I’m planning on a extra-wide 2” blade. I’m wondering if I should start with a 2” wide piece of bar stock and create the curve in the blade by...
Katana cutting ability? - BladeForums.com
Jan 4, 2002 · The katana is vastly overhyped. Don't get me wrong I like katana as much as the next guy, I think they are beautiful and they certainly are a good sword design. However this idea that they are better then any other sword type is the purest yishvish. Traditional katana are differentially heat treated with the edge being harder then the spine.

Best modern high end Katana - BladeForums.com
Aug 27, 2014 · Well since you're askin', the best one of those that I've ever seen and held was made by Dan Keffeler. Made like a proper, real katana, but had a titanium guard and hardware, and a blood-chilling blade made from very high-end steel. It was a custom-made blade though, not a mass-production piece.
So what's everyone's opinions on Cold steel swords?
Jan 31, 2002 · I don't think I can recommend a katana just as tough as a CS sword because theirs are the toughest you'll find for that price. But if you were to handle a historical katana, the word tough would not come to mind. They are stiff, hard edged, but they are also fine, sometimes delicate, cutting machines.
Blocking a Katana with a Katana - BladeForums.com
Mar 13, 2005 · The edge on a katana and most swords is hard, so it holds a good edge. It will chip, and dull with impact of another blade. THe ideal way is simply to cut them down before they can make a cut. If necessary, the flat or back of the blade is supposed to be used. This is what happens when you block edge-to-edge.
How To How much ito per inch of tsukamaki. - BladeForums.com
May 3, 2005 · The estimate I gave is for 10mm silk "katana" ito. Some of the leather cord comes in narrower sizes and would take more turns. I accidentally bought some narrow leather for my tantos, but ended up getting the 10mm silk because it looks better to me.
8670 steel or 5160 or A2 for large wakizashi or ko-kotana?
Jul 12, 2011 · Hey everyone, I was thinking of getting a custom large wakizashi or small katana and looking at different steels. Out of 8670, 5160, or A2 what would you recommend for a very shock resistant blade? I am thinking 5160 would probably be most shock resistant/toughest, followed by A2, followed by 8670.
No signal from line out in a Boss Katana 100 - The Steel Guitar …
Jan 6, 1999 · XLR or 1/4” TS cable doesn’t make much difference for short distance line out. What matters is the output level of the signal from the source (Katana) going into the destination (audio interface). I tried this myself this morning, out of curiosity. Same result as you. The Line Out signal is very weak, probably -10dB.
