Luffy did not learn any techniques against Doflamingo and had no noticeable improvements, meaning Doflamingo didn't put Luffy under any real pressure (it's been stated multiple times that haki improvements are made under extreme stress).

I think Katakuri is also important to the story in a way that the likes of Kuro, Enel and Foxy were not. and fire well has its weaknesses. Fire needs oxygen so Katakuri's awakening should be able to "put out the fire" of it manages to cover it up. But at the moment, Katakuri would have trouble doing serious damage even when King is in speed mode I don't agree with this. Zoro defeated king and only dealt 3 attacks that injured King.
