This conversion, frankly, isn't really all that faithful to the original kaorti write up, though it might follow the 4e version more closely, I'm not sure. Anyway, looking in the DMG, here's my calculation: Base hp 83 x 2 for immunities = 166.

While it takes a moderate amount of effort to make, the Kaorti could make a new one. He probably isn't going to risk dying over the recovery of some lost resources. Especially since XP is an abstraction the character herself doesn't really understand. At most, the Kaorti who made the weapon will stalk you for it.

The basic fluff is that they are wizards who went to the Far Realm and got warped by it, losing their memories and being turned into monstrosities that want to destroy the Material Plane and can only survive on it while in environment suits they make from a resin they exude.
