Kandu VII (pronounced CAN-doo) was an approximately 27-year-old male Icelandic killer whale who lived at Marineland of Canada. He was captured on November 25th, 1984 near Reyðarfjörður, Iceland, at approximately 6 years old.

Dec 21, 2005 · Kandu 7, a male, was captured near Iceland in November 1984 at around age 4 at the time he was captured. Almost immediately after his capture Kandu was bought by Marineland Ontario Canada. While in captivity he fathered (with 2 females) Splash, Neocia, Malik, Nova, Hudson, Algonquin, April, and Athena.

Jan 11, 2006 · NIAGARA FALLS — Kandu, a killer whale who entertained customers at Marineland for decades, has died, Niagara This Week has learned. Marineland marketing manager Ann Marie Rondelli confirmed when contacted by This Week that the orca whose name was synonomous with the entertainment park died Dec. 21.
