At this time, there have been 24 different configurations of live musicians backing Babymetal. For Legend Metal Galaxy, I will be counting Day 1 for the Eastern Kami and Day 2 for the Western Kami.

A live performance band composed of the Metal gods of the guitar Kami, the bass Kami and the drum Kami who have all been summoned by Kitsune-sama for Babymetal. Aug 21, 2023 · The Kami band is what first convinced me that Babymetal were serious about their music. My only complaint about Babymetal is how the Kami band is sort of pushed to the background. Maybe it works out ok for them so they are free to take breaks and work on other projects or whatever they need to do.

Su and Moa are Babymetal. The Kami band is not and has never been an official part of Babymetal. Just as whenever individual members of the Kami band are in the touring band for other Japanese acts, they are not members of Momoiro Clover Z, AKB48, NK46, or, or any number of Japanese acts they perform with.

Oct 29, 2021 · Kami Band is not a set lineup of musicians. It's a more flexible arrangement, the musicians all have other gigs so there is something like a roster for occasions when one or more is unavailable because of other commitments, there are others who can fill in.

Mar 21, 2021 · The ORIGINAL original (the dudes in skeleton onesies) never played, they just gave the illusion that there was live music, the first band that actually played live with the girls, minus Mikio 😢, I believe is still active with the girls in Japan exclusively they have a different lineup for international shows that they call the Western Kami-band

Sep 5, 2019 · And it is still Babymetal, the singers, performing to a live band rather than a backing track. Which, I believe, was probably the intent behind having a Kami Band in the first place. I doubt we’ve seen the last of the regular Kamis, even outside of Japan, but doing it this way must help with multiple logistical aspects.

Without the Kami Band, Babymetal do not become a success in the west. Elite musicianship is an integral part of metal, which Koba understood, and that makes the Kami band an indispensable part of the act and musicians of the caliber of the Kamis don't grow on trees.
