Argalasti is a stopping point for those headed for the nearby beaches of the Pagasetic Gulf (Chorto, Kalamos, Lefokastro) or the Aegean Sea (Potistika, Melani, Paltsi). An example of the architecture of the beginning of the 20th century is the church tower of Sts. Apostles.

Kalamos is a small village by the sea, 6km from Argalasti and 46km from Volos. Travellers and locals all look forward to the annual festival of Agia Paraskevi, which takes place on July 25th. You can enjoy traditional music and dance here. Kalamos is an ideal place for a quiet and peaceful vacation, far from the stresses of the city.

Sep 23, 2021 · Paou and Kalamos are the beaches closest to Argalasti, while a few kilometres further away there’s also Milina and Horto. All these are calm, protected beaches with warm, shallow waters and are great choices for families with small children.

You can try the beaches of Paou (5km), Kalamos (6km) or Lefokastro (9km) all on the side of the Pagasitic Gulf. On the other side, which is the Aegean Sea, you can choose from Potistika (15km) and Paltsi (13km).

(Argalasti Square) This route goes downhill from Argalasti to the beach of Kalamos and for most of its length we walk on a nice cobbled path. It is an easy route ideal for winter and spring months.

Kalamos is a coastal settlement, at the south of Lefokastro. It impresses the visitors with its scenic colors and its simple but elegant beauty. There are grand stone cottages and a small stream which flows into the sea.

From the seaside settlement of Kalamos, we walk south to the beaches of Belian and Paou, then to the monastery of Paou and finally to the village of Argalasti. Walking time 2 hours. We have the option to return to Kalamos walking the Argalasti-Kalamos route, to complete a circular walk.
