Kaji Nemu is a perennial thorny shrub. Its leaves are dark green in color and emit a fragrance when picked. The trees typically grow to a height of 2–3.5 m, with leaves measuring 7–10 cm in length and 3–5 cm in width. Kaji Nemu trees have a lifespan of about 20 to 25 years.
