Being a former owner of a P40 covert myself. I would recommend 2 upgrades for your pistol. 1. The Pearce Grip Extension which replaces the base plate on your mag. 2. A Hogue Handall Jr. grip cover. BOTH can be purchased for around $10 each. And, really do make a major improvement in grip comfort IMO. Thanks.

I've always thought it was an aftermarket covert rather than a factory one simply because I thought the texture on the grip would have been more like the texture on a PM40 (doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the grip, but stops and smooths out about a 1/4" from the bottom).
