Kadaj is the primary antagonist of the novel Final Fantasy VII The Kids Are Alright: A Turks Side Story and the secondary antagonist of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. An embodiment of Sephiroth's will manifested from the lifestream, his goal is to find Jenova, whom he considers his mother, and bring about a second Jenova Reunion.

Prior to the events of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Kadaj operates alone in his efforts to find Jenova, gravely injuring Dr. Drake and stalking Evan Townshend and his partner Kyrie Canaan while they search for Evan's missing mother, Annette.

Kadaj is one of three beings created by Sephiroth as manifestions of "his will". He and his "brothers", driven by Sephiroth's will and their own personal obession, sought out their "Mother": Jenova's head. Kadaj represents the bulk of Sephiroth's personality.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children[a] is a 2005 Japanese adult animated science fantasy action-adventure film directed by Tetsuya Nomura, written by Kazushige Nojima, and produced by Yoshinori Kitase and Shinji Hashimoto.

Kadaj appears on the Midgar Wasteland to summon Shadow Creepers to attack Cloud while he is out riding his motorcycle. After speaking to one of the Turks over the phone, he recalls his monsters and sets off to find Rufus Shinra.

Kadaj is the main villain for most of the movie. Along with his brothers Yazoo and Loz, he wants to find Jenova and absorb her cells so Sephiroth can return. The three of them are Sephiroth clones created by Hojo. Kadaj is violent and very skilled with his double bladed katana (the Souba).
