Primitive camping is available at 26 sites identified on the visitor guide map. Sites include, vehicle-accessible for $15/night; canoe-accessible and hike-in, bike-in, or horseback-accessible only for $10/night.

All vehicles parked at river access sites; Landing 5, Landing 7, Landing 10, Landing 12, and Landing 14, must display a KVR day use, annual, camping, or vehicle parking permit.

The Kickapoo Valley Dark Sky Initiative began as a collaboration between Kickapoo Valley Reserve, Wildcat Mountain State Park, and Mississippi Valley Conservancy to prevent light pollution and protect dark skies in and around a combined 13,300 acres along the Kickapoo River in Wisconsin's Vernon County.

If notice is received less than 14 days prior, no refund will be made. If the KVR cancels a program, there will be a full refund. Scholarships are available for financially disadvantaged students. Contact the KVR for more information. Confirmation of registration will be emailed within a week of receipt of your registration.

Wildcat Mountain State Park offers 24 campsites that accommodate horse trailers with campers. Reservations are required. Additional trail passes are required for riders entering the state park trail system.

2025 KVR Trail Challenge Adults are challenged to hike and paddle* all trail segments and kids are challenged to hike/paddle 20 trail segments within the KVR during the calendar year.
