The KV-1 (in Cyrillic Климе́нт Вороши́лов (KB) in latin prescript Kliment Voroshilov (KV)) was a Soviet 5 member crew heavy assault tank during the early stages of the Second World War. The need to create a heavy tank carrying anti-tank armor was well understood in the USSR.
