The KTM 990 Adventure is a dual-sport motorcycle produced in Austria by KTM. The bike is powered by the LC8 liquid cooled, four-stroke, DOHC 999 cc 75° V-twin engine, [1] producing around 78 kW (105 hp). It is capable of a top speed of around 123 mph (198 km/h), [2] with its engine evolved from the 950 Adventure.

Aug 19, 2020 · The answer has to be a resounding yes – the KTM 990 Adventure is still an astoundingly good motorcycle and a solid buy. I may have only had the bike for a short while, but I loved the combination of the beautifully balanced chassis and the strong motor.

By creating the 990 Adventure, KTM intended on giving the normal rider a feel of what a Paris Dakar pilot experiences during the exhausting race.

With new cylinder heads, new cams, lighter con-rods and crank, tweaked EFI and modded exhausts, the standard bike gained an extra 8hp (up from 98hp to 106hp) and the motor became smoother too.
