Jul 3, 2017 · There are kids winning on the Sx, kx, and 150r, so it depends on the rider. I think either way has its own advantages. The 150r seems to have the advantage with the hole shot, but the strokers seem stronger on the straights.

Jun 4, 2020 · Now I'm torn between getting another CRF 150R Big Wheel (knowing that I can handle the power now) vs. a KTM 85 SX 19/16. I don't have much experience with 2 strokes, but the 85 SX (which now comes in a 19"/16" size) has many attractive qualities to me: low maintenance, lightweight, etc.

Nov 16, 2008 · No it isn't. It will be easier to go faster for a less talented rider on a CRF150R but a talented 85 rider will still put it to the 150R. If you want a bit more go big bore on the KTM or move up to the 105SX.

Nov 27, 2008 · That's why the 150r was put into a higher class last year. A supermini might have a chance, but at stock displacement forget it. The crf150r makes more power, makes more torque, makes both earlier in the RPM range and for a longer spread, is easier to ride fast and more forgiving of mistakes.
