Paid $75 for it. It only had a bad coil and was missing some parts. Spent maybe another $200 and it runs excellent.

Jan 30, 2006 · I have a 1980 KD 80 that was given to me. I want to fix it up for my daughter. Does anyone know if there is a way to convert this bike to Solid state(CDI) ignition?

In 1988 the KD80-N1, known as the KD80X model, would get a complete re-design. The KD80-N1 would ditch the rotary valve engine configuration in favor of a reed valve design. It would also have smaller wheels, different suspension, expansion chamber exhaust and more modern styling.

Feb 20, 2011 · According to the guy we got it from, one of the previous owners was in prison for murder. The condition, as you can see the bike is pretty complete but pretty repulsive looking. The inside of the gas tank was just furry with rust.
