Die Junkers R 42 war ein deutscher Bomber der 1920er Jahre. Die R 42 war die Militärversion der Junkers G 24; die 42 stellt die Umkehrung der zivilen 24 dar. Wegen der im Versailler Vertrag geregelten Rüstungsbeschränkungen für das Deutsche Reich, konnte es weder in Deutschland gebaut, noch erprobt werden.

El Junkers G 24, que entró en servicio en 1925, fue el primer transporte trimotor comercial monoplano de construcción completamente metálica del mundo. Con una tripulación de tres hombres, podía acomodar hasta nueve pasajeros, siendo propulsado por varios tipos de motores.

At Limhamn the original Junkers designator was changed. Limhamn built aircraft typcially got the prefix letter " R ". The following two digit number normally was generated by reverting the original Junkers number, that means, from the A20 the new R02 results and the G24 became the R42.

The parts for these K30 aircraft were built at Dessau and then shipped to Limhamn, where A.B. Flygindustri built the K30 under the designator R42. Some of the R42 were already equipped with machine gun towers and bomb mountings.

However, these R-designators were just used for aircraft types, which were built or intended to be built in Fili, Russia. They normally did not block a number within the designator sequence of Junkers.

Nov 22, 2020 · The Limhamn type designator for this military variante was R42 (reversed numbers of the G24!) The new type designator at Limhamn was created to prevent Junkers from attacks from the Allied Commission. Most of the R42 were delivered to the USSR and were used there as bomber aircraft.

Dec 3, 2008 · The unit was formed as Escuadrilla de Bombardeo Independiente on 12.7.1928 with six Junkers R42 bomber. The unit was expanded in 1932 and became Grupo de Bombardeo and Grupo de Aviación 4 on 16.9.1938, part of I Brigada Aérea from 1937.
