Oct 12, 2016 · The CB continued into another ball of his, and proceeded to hit a rail. Therefore, other than the jump, the shot was legal. I called it a foul, he (and most others in the pool hall) said that since it was unintentional, it was not a foul and I was to proceed. All of the rules explicitly state that scooping is not allowed.

Oct 28, 2015 · Modern jump cues make jumping possible just like a chalked tip makes spin possible. Neither one takes the shot for the player. When a jump shot is played ALL of the factors for a pool shot are still present, speed and spin have to be chosen AND the player has to add trajectory to the mix so jumping is actually HARDER than a regular pool shot.

Oct 25, 2006 · As Kevin pointed out, our LO allows you to change cues in mid game provided you don't alter the cue. So I can go get my jump/break cue to execute a jump shot in mid game, as long as I use the full cue. Room rules can over-ride this rule, so if the room doesn't allow jump shots, that is the rule that must be followed.

Jul 15, 2013 · Back in the day, I shot jump shots in the manner that is now & perhaps even was illiegal back then although it may not have been well known & was not being enforced. I certainly did not intend to shoot an illegal shot & stooped as it was made known to be illegal.
