Jon Segan studied art at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. Although he graduated in 1977, he did not start making art until 2006. It was during those years that he acquired the skills and experiences necessary to do his work which involves painting, sculpture, and assemblage.

Jon Segan studied art as a young man. After years of not doing art, he resumed work in 2006. described as "Postmodern Pre-Raphaelite". Since starting to do art work again he has shown regionally and taken an active part in area arts organizations.
