Started falling off sometime during culling games, plummeted in showdown arc. The pacing and shifting away from plot development, or rather what I'd consider to be interesting plot development. Something along those lines anyways.

The manga didn't fall off, the week to week readers are just very reactionary. Overall, it's still pretty good, just not as good as earlier parts. When the anime comes out, it will be universally loved.
