Photometric system - Wikipedia
In astronomy, a photometric system is a set of well-defined passbands (or optical filters), with a known sensitivity to incident radiation. The sensitivity usually depends on the optical system, detectors and filters used. For each photometric system a set of primary standard stars is …

JHK: The filters JHK are an important extension of the Johnson system to near-infrared wavelengths. Technology requires different detectors for these wavelengths than UBVRI, so different calibration stars are required (Landolt's standards are useful for optical UBVRI observations). The JHK filters have been used in the 2MASS all sky
UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey ZY JHK photometric system: passbands and ...
Apr 1, 2006 · The Large Area Survey (LAS) is a wide, relatively shallow survey that will cover 4000 deg 2 from within the footprint of the SDSS, in the four bands Y JHK. The depth, K = 18.4, will be some 3 mag deeper than 2MASS.
0.83 − 2.37µm in up to five filters ZY JHK, and extend-ing over both high and low Galactic latitude regions of the sky. The new Z band, 0.84 − 0.93µm, and the Y band, 0.97−1.07µm, introduced by Warren & Hewett (2002), are both characterised in this paper. It is anticipated that the surveys will take seven years to complete. This ...

We synthesize response functions for the five passbands, and compute colours in the WFCAM, Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and two-Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) bands, for brown dwarfs, stars, galaxies and quasars of different types. We provide a recipe for others to compute colours from their own spectra.
We present the results of a three-year campaign of broad-band photometry in the near-infrared J, H, K and L0bands for a sample of approximately 250 giant stars carried out at the Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife, Spain).
JHK photometric system
The JHK photometric system (2MASS photometric system or JHK) is a photometric system that uses the J (1220 nm), H (1630 nm), and K (2190 nm) passbands/filters to record the various colors within the near infrared. It was used by the Two Micron All-sky Survey (2MASS).
JHK'-band IOTA interferometry of the circumstellar environment …
We report the first long-baseline interferometry of the circumstellar dust environment of R CrB. The observations were carried out with the Infrared Optical Telescope Array (IOTA), using our new JHK' beam combiner which enables us to record fringes in …
We present new optical and infrared photometric observa- tions and high resolution Hα spectra of the periodic radio star LSI+61 303. The optical photometric data set covers the time interval 1985-1993 and amounts to about a hundred nights. A period of ∼26 days is found in the V band.
