Why Captain Jellico Is Actually Pretty Awesome : r/startrek - Reddit
Jellico was the outsider, the step-parent that was never going to meet the standard of Picard because Picard was there first. Jellico did not really do anything wrong and actually was a pretty good fit for the situation, sadly, the crew naturally has the sympathy of the audience because we not only like them but also Picard.
Am I the only one who thinks Jellico is great? : r ... - Reddit
Sep 25, 2015 · I've never gotten the impression that Jellico was meant to be a "jerk" who can't do anything right. I think he's intended to be a decent guy and a solid commanding officer who has some significant flaws, chief among them being his inability to get along with people under his command and a tendency to try to fix things that aren't broken.

What is your opinion of Capt. Jellico? - The Trek BBS
Sep 16, 2009 · Jellico is the commanding officer. "Do it my way no matter what" is his right. He doesn't *have* to listen to objections. The fact that he didn't throw anyone in the brig - which would also be his right - is a testament to his self control.
Captain Jellico: Totally Awesome, or Lame? | The Trek BBS

They weren't used to Jellico's style of command. I'm sure his old crew on the Cairo worked well with him and didn't just stand around griping all day.

Oct 29, 2016 · Jellico was a good captain. The script for the episode takes great pains to try to portray him as some sort of villain but, in my eyes at least, only manages to show how petty, immature, and unprofessional the Enterprise regulars could be when they put their minds to it.
