So I have a few questions...My cj6 has lots of small rust holes in the front floor pan, and a few in the back. A lot of the suports on the bottom of the floor pans are pretty rusty to, and have holes.

You have a rear mounted fuel tank (not under the drivers seat), and a late style windshield frame and grill which indicates your Jeep is likely a '70 or '71 model year. Your VIN tag on the firewall did not originally come on this Jeep, and it was not originally attached with pop rivets.

Dec 19, 2005 · Here are 3 pics that show my 71 with the stock rear tank. The stock tank in 71 bolted to the frame and then the skid plate bolted on a after it, the tank is not strapped to the frame but has tabs on the tank that have bolts that go thru them.

Aug 27, 2010 · Oh and my 10" units were rebuilt all the way around with new lines, 2 new cylinders and 2 rebuilt cylinders and a new MC. The 1 1/8" jeep rotors should not be hard to find, just more expensive than the later 1" units.

Oct 9, 2002 · Get the CJ6 if that is what you really want. don't "settle" for a CJ5. If there is an upcharge for the CJ6 (and I don't think there is), then it won't be much. It'll ride smoother and you can make more legroom because the wheelhouse won't be in the way. Sruprisingly, Jeep couldn't sell the CJ6, and now thirty years later it is coming into vogue.

Nov 20, 2022 · This rare 1971 Jeep CJ-6 was purchased new and owned by a volunteer fire station. The mileage is not a typo...these are actual miles. It has the desirable Dauntless Odd-Fire 225 V-6 engine, T14 transmission and Dana 18 transfer case, along with the "unicorn" offset flanged Dana 44 rear axle used only in '70 1/2-71 CJs.
