Jul 29, 2008 · I'm new here and have a few questions regarding BJ40s. I currently drive a Jeep Cherokee with 5in of lift, 32s and a bunch of other goodies, and am starting to think about getting a Cruiser instead. I love my Jeep, but I read something about the BJ40 series Cruisers getting around 30 mpg. I would also love to be able to run biodesel.

Apr 24, 2014 · I have a 1980 BJ40 that I recently brought in from Costa Rica. It's my first diesel Cruiser. I have owned many FJ40's. I was shocked at the torque and the power. I was always told they were dogs but this BJ40 runs like banshee! 100kmph (kilometers) is no problem and it gets way better fuel economy. Motor may have been rebuilt. Not sure.

Sep 16, 2016 · Most 40 series Land Cruisers were built as 2-door SUVs with slightly larger dimensions than a Jeep CJ. The model was available as the FJ40 series (with F engines) and also BJ40/41/42 (short wheelbase), BJ43/44/46 (middle wheelbase) or HJ45/47 (long wheelbase) designation where it had a Diesel engine.

Apr 11, 2015 · It'll come down to the rims. 16 inch wheels have the best tire selection in my opinion in terms of maximum overall diameter7. .50R 16 is a great size and fix it fits well with the stock suspension.
