Aug 21, 2021 · Think the 4100 is like the 4010 and very similar still to the 2025R. Hydraulic fluid check is to the left side and slightly under the seat. Think you can access the checker plug with the seat in place. Maybe have to raise it. Don''t remember. Don't recall that the 4010 had a check fluid window on it. Think it had a dip stick.

I have flushed and changed the fluid and also rebuilt the boom cylinders and I also installed new quick connects. The loader and 3 point both operate (go up and down) but do not work under load.

Dec 7, 2023 · Replaced the "O" ring, drained the system, replaced the filter and added 3.3 gal JD hydraulic fluid. Started engine, power steering works but the 3 point hitch does not raise, no pressure. Could there be an air lock and if so, is the a bleed valve? I did not clean out the strainer filter as the JD mech said I didn't need to.

Feb 23, 2015 · 4100 mfwd Hi, Welcome. My 4100 is an HST model from 1998. On my tractor you push the lever DOWN to engage the 4 wheel drive. Sometimes there is a bit of resistance but if I move the tractor backward or forward a little bit the drive will engage and the handle almost touches the floor.

Jun 10, 2021 · Make sure the battery cable connectors are clean and tight BOTH at the battery posts AND to the battery cables themselves. Had a similar situation with my 1998 4100 a couple of years ago. Put in new battery, bought the technical manual, spent untold hours testing and re-testing each safety switch per the tech manual troubleshooting procedures.
