Nov 12, 2022 · For that $, I would consider a new pair of the JBL 308P powered monitors (Amazon). Or a used pair of JBL L60T or L1 (or similar or possibly better) speakers for less $. Maybe you can find a killer deal on the discontinued Studio series. There are hundreds of other options if you consider non-JBL speakers.

Sep 16, 2013 · I have a pair of JBL 4312 Mk II control monitors and I love them. I also have a pair 4410's. Both pairs are connected to a McIntosh 2125 amp (1 amp per pair) and they play beautifully. Perhaps th 4410s are a bit "rounder" while the 4312 mk II's are sharper and more precise ... If I was forced to part with one set, I'd keep the 4312mkIIs.

Jan 10, 2024 · The JBL website claims crossover frequencies of 7 khz and 12 khz. Assuming it isn’t a typo… why even have a mid and tweeter at that point (they are barely doing anything). When I saw the driver sizes I was expecting ~1 khz and ~3.5 khz for crossover points. Is it $1k for the pair? Can’t possibly be $1k per side.

I believe you are stressing about something that doesn't exist. Even if the JBL 4312m offered a presentation of 4 ohms to your Sony receiver, without cranking that volume knob to "8", continually, you won't harm anything.

Jan 10, 2024 · No, the Mark II of the 3 series is the most recent studio monitor update/release by JBL. The 7xx series has been out longer. I suspect the 700's are due for some sort of update, updates are usually slower on pro audio products as the market is totally different.
