The Manson J90 (GNSR Class D) 0-6-0T Locomotives. Most of the shunting and local goods workings on the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) was performed by older tender locomotives. This changed in 1884 when Manson introduced the six Class D (LNER J90) 0-6-0T side tank locomotives

The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) J94 Class is a class of steam locomotive that was formed when 75 former "Austerity" 0-6-0STs were purchased by the LNER in 1946 from the War Department. The LNER had trials with one in November 1945 and bought 75 of them in 1946, numbering them 8006-80. All entered British Railways (BR) service in 1948.

In 1875 the Inchicore works of the Great Southern & Western Railway (GS&WR) built two steam powered railmotors. They had a carriage on the same chassis as the locomotive and were designed to work on the Castleisland and Gortatlea Light Railway.

Sep 25, 2006 · In 1907 all 9 were rebuilt with 846-sq ft boilers pressed to 150 psi. In LNER service the 1884 batch were J90, the 1885s J91. The last J90 was withdrawn in 1936, the last J91 2 years earlier.

The GNR Class J9 was a class of two-cylinder steam locomotives of the 0-6-0 wheel arrangement, built in 1896 for the Great Northern Railway. The Class J9s were based on the GNR Class J10, but featured wider cabs and used a different diameter boiler. [1] .

Three J94s were allocated to the line in 1956. One engine was based at Cromford and made transfer trips between High Peak Junction and the bottom of the incline. The other two were based at Middleton Top and operated workings to Friden and Parsley Hay. By 1962, four further J94s had been allocated to the Cromford and High Peak.
