Aug 24, 2001 · J-33''s are neat boats and to my eye have always looked like more appealing boat to sail BUT the J-35 has had much greater success as a race boat both as a one design and as a PHRF race boat. Both have well rounded sailing characteristics. The J-35 takes a bigger crew with a larger number of very competant crew members to sail well.
