Saab 29 D J 29A (s/n 29137) with 30 mm HSS 825 mockups, 1952. J 29D – proposed fighter variant with afterburner ; a single prototype was built to test the afterburning Ghost RM 2A turbojet with 27.5 kN (2,800 kgp/6,175 lbf) afterburning thrust.

Depending on the load-out, the J29D can perform anything from interceptor missions to air superiority missions to high speed attack missions. This functionality makes the J29D extremely versatile and a valuable asset to its team in the game.

With this and other improvements, the J29D was an attempt by the Swedish air force at creating a fast climbing bomber-interceptor armed with the deadliest fixed armament for its time. Although it was not supersonic, it could reach speeds above 1060 km/h at certain altitudes.

It's probably the most effective plane at and around 8.7 without carrying any suspended armaments. Its afterburning engine doesn't overheat, it doesn't rip nor does it over speed.

Is the J29D worth buying? I was thinking about buying the J29D. Is it worth its price? It's so so. Upside, it's got 30mm swADENS cannons with increased rate of fire. Downside, it's got 4 ADENS with 240 (ish) rounds between them and an increased rate of fire. Upside it's pretty quick picking up speed (afterburner)
