Izanami-no-Mikoto (伊弉冉尊, 伊邪那美命) or simply Izanami, is the primordial Shinto mother goddess and sister/wife to Izanagi-no-Mikoto. She helped stir the oceans on the Bridge of the Heavens, and settled down with Izanagi on Earth on their island Onogoro.

Izanagi-no-Okami is a playable Persona in Persona 4, Persona 4 Arena, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and Persona 5 Royal. In Persona 5 Royal, it is offered as a DLC Persona in a bundle with Raoul and Athena, and features both its original Persona 4 form and a Picaro variant.

In Persona 4, Izanagi is the first Persona of the main character, Yu Narukami. Upon encountering the Shadows, Izanagi's voice triggers Yu's awakening to his latent power. By saying 'Persona', Yu calls forth Izanagi.
