URI. Research Project Iqra conducted content analysis of children’s movies to analyze how the criminal justice system is portrayed through characters, settings, interactions, and deviant behaviors. She then analyzed the messages imparted to children about the criminal justice system through a coding mechanism she and her mentor developed.

My research examines what messages children’s movies impart about villains. It includes a content-analysis of 80 full-length animated movies released by Disney, DreamWorks, and Warner Bros. between 2000 and 2018.
