In Islam, Jesus (Arabic: عِيسَىٰ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ‎, romanized: ʿĪsā ibn Maryam, lit. 'Jesus, son of Mary '), is believed to be the penultimate prophet and messenger of God and the Messiah being the last of the messengers sent to the Children of Israel (Banī Isra'īl) with a revelation called the Injīl (Evangel or Gospel).

Isa (Arabic: عِيسَى, romanized:ʿĪsā) is a Classical Arabic name which is the name given to Jesus in the Quran and other Islamic texts. The name Eesa (إيساء) or Isa in Arabic can also be interpreted as meaning “Yahweh is salvation” or “Yahweh’s gift”.

In the Qur'an, the name of Jesus Christ (may peace be upon him) is mentioned in Arabic as "Isa." These verses provide us with a unique insight into the Islamic view of Jesus and remind us of his importance as a messenger of Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ).
