My guess would be she died in childbirth. But she had to be significant in some way. The whole point of Ursa being betrothed to Ozai was specifically because she was Avatar Roku's granddaughter. But because Iroh was the first born, it stands to reason that Azulon would want Iroh's wife to have a powerful lineage as well.

My theory was that Iroh’s wife or gf was probably of a low status and therefore she was shunned out of the family by Azulon. Like looking at Ursa, Azulon and Ozai only really cared for the fact that she was the granddaughter of Roku and if he joined Ursa and Ozai together it would create powerful fire bender children.

Jan 18, 2022 · Probably dead considering how Iroh flirts with every woman he comes across. The alternative is Iroh's wife was closer to Azula or Ozai in her patriotism of the Fire Nation. Their relationship was probably already strained after Lu Ten's death and as Iroh grew disenchanted with the Fire Nation their relationship broke down completely.

Feb 16, 2021 · No one here can say. We know next to nothing about her, although there is some evidence that she died a long time ago, before Ozai married Ursa. (Ursa tells Iroh that he is the only person friendly to her, which means either Iroh's wife was mean or she wasn't around by then) The prevailing fan-theory is that she died giving birth to Prince Lu Ten.

Jul 21, 2013 · Lu Ten then becoming even more of a part of Iroh's wife, and instead of being angry and resenting his son, he loves him even more in memory of his wife. And then from that point on in his life it was just him and Lu Ten against the world (as much as "just" when you are the prince of the Fire Nation).

Nov 16, 2023 · Iroh had a son, Lu Ten, and during the show he often gets mentioned and Iroh is shown to still greatly miss him. However Lu Ten must’ve also had a mother, who’s never mentioned. It could also be that Lu Ten was a bastard and Iroh never got married.

Iroh was deeply broken since then as the two person he loved were gone. He found however a young unloved nephew to put some of his love into.

Sep 21, 2023 · Ah my bad, you're right, I thought you were referencing the series with the Earth Avatar after LoK. I strongly doubt his wife is alive at that point because the complete absence of her even being mentioned in the whole series would be inexcplicably weird if she was still alive, but we may get a flashback or know how and when she died.
