Jun 12, 2012 · the guy from wyeast always says that, aside from injecting oxygen, you wont get any more oxygen into the wort then you would after 45 seconds of rigorous shaking. you can shake for 5 hours, use a blender like this, etc. but you wont get anything more than a good 45 second shake would.
Fruit Sanitation and Pectin Question - Homebrew Talk
Oct 9, 2012 · First day I get the berries, I will soak them in vinegar for a few minutes. I have read this is an excellent way to kill most (if not all) wild yeasts. I will then rinse and freeze them for a couple days, then mash them. I also have an emerrsion blender. I could blend it really well, but I am afraid of extra O2 being added.
Wort Aeration & How To Build A Free Pump - Homebrew Talk
Feb 6, 2013 · Just tried it on today's brew and it worked like a charm. I'd imagine there's less risk of contamination with this method relative to what I usually do: using an immersion blender with a whisk attachment I whip in (the same) air.
The proper use of raisins for beer - Homebrew Talk
Oct 15, 2008 · I take a large box of brown raisins and rehydrate them in carrot juice for 30 minutes around 160 then I use an immersion blender to purée them. I bring to a boil for a few minutes and add my spices etc. I drop that concoction into my fermenters before racking out of the boil kettle.
Brewjacket Immersion Pro - Homebrew Talk
Sep 14, 2017 · I ordered 3 immersion pros in late June or early July 2017 as well as some fermenter lids- 2 fermonster lids and 1 bucket lid. Buying 3 priced the units at about 200$ a pop so it defrayed the cost a bit. The estimated delivery date was late August. All 3 units arrived mid August ahead of expected delivery by a week or so and in excellent condition.

Nov 5, 2017 · I have 2 immersion chillers. One 25 foot ( home made) and one at 50 foot ( purchased). Right now I use a pump and circulate my water. I am curious if it would be benificiacial to circulate through 2 chillers. 1 being immersed in ice water, and one in my wort. Set up will be like this... hose in a metal container which runs to pump.
What is the best type of copper and diameter for a home-made …
Feb 18, 2013 · I like 1/2" inside diameter copper coil that you can get by the foot at a plumbing supply. It's the right size to use 90 and 45 degree slip elbows that you solder onto the tubing.
cleaning copper chiller for first time - Homebrew Talk
Apr 10, 2008 · Getting ready to use a copper immersion chiller for the first time on saturday. Anything I have to do to clean it before I use it? It doesn't have any of that green corrosion that copper sometimes gets, but it's slightly dull. I soaked it in oxiclean and it came out looking the same. It smells really strong of... copper (duh).
immersion chiller slinky/spacer fix - Homebrew Talk
Feb 18, 2011 · i ordered a 25' immersion chiller from learntobrew.com. the slinkyness is sorta awkward. i was considering buying 14gauge solid copper wire, and sorta thread/twist between each coil, which would space each coil out and also rigidly hold it together. i would do three vertical runs (from top to bottom) at 1/3 points along the diameter.
BrewJacket Immersion Fermentation Chiller Review
Dec 30, 2015 · I've tried a few different fermentation temperature control systems. I recently did a detailed review on the BrewJacket Immersion Pro. It's not cheap, but the temperature control is awesome (stays within +/- 0.5 degrees of your set point). It's easy to get going, and its best feature is it's electro-thermal heat transfer engine.
