Apr 10, 2001 · I have owned a Tamarisk 24 for three years now (my first and probably only boat). At 24ft she seems to have better accommodation than many 29ft boats. Lots of woodwork that needs some TLC (GRP hull), but I enjoy the varnishing works as much as the sailing.

This Itchen Ferry based Tamarisk 24 is constructed using a GRP hull with Timber construction decks & cockpit, all either GRP or epoxy sheathed. The vessel was totally stripped out back to a bare hull, ground out and all concrete and rusty cast iron ballast removed.

The tamarisk shrub grows in the Sinai desert where it is parasites by sap sucking flies leaving a coating of honeydew which can be collected at dawn as sugar crystals. This is thought by some to be the manna which sustained the Israelites during their 40 years there following the Exodus.

Jan 21, 2020 · The Tamarisk 24 is a stretched version of the earlier Tamarisk 22. Designed by David Cannell (who also designed the Tamarisk 19 and 22; Samphire 23, 26 and 29; North Sea 127; etc., etc.). In his small yachts he tended to specialise in shoal draft, traditional looking boats, but built with more modern design/construction features.

Designed by David Cannell, the Tamarisk 24 is based on a Falmouth working boat. These gaff cutters are both fast and seaworthy. With substantial displacement for their size they are equally at home creek crawling or making coastal passages.
