Is Icon by harbor freight really a good tool brand?
Jan 14, 2017 · Icon tools are way overpriced for what they are, there are some superior USA made tools for less money. If they don't make a rebuild kit or replacement grips it shows it is a disposable tool and of no interest to me.
Is Icon by harbor freight really a good tool brand?
Aug 10, 2020 · I have a couple of the Icon ratchets: a bog standard 3/8” drive with comfort grip, a swivel head 3/8”, and a swivel 1/2” drive. These complement my existing ratchets (Teng, one old US made Craftsman, some cheap but durable Pittsburgh Pro, and my favorite black locking flex head Husky 1/2”). I...
Technical ICON & Harbor Freight TOOL REVIEWS - The Jalopy …
Mar 3, 2020 · Bought many many different brands of tools in my lifetime, even Harbor Freight. We all know the quality level of many of those tools was below par but often got the job done. Since HF has come out with their new line of tools called ICON, they are touting them as being on the same level as the big truck brands.
Is Icon by harbor freight really a good tool brand?
Nov 5, 2020 · Sure I'd love better tools, but I don't make a living with them, they are used for wrenching on my own vehicles. They are good enough for what I do. I'm guessing HF has so many fan boys and who knows how many Youtubers that are heavily influencing others to buy Icon tools. Who knows how much they are being compensated to promote the "Icon" brand.
Quinn (HF) Master Impact Socket Sets | BobIsTheOilGuy
Aug 30, 2004 · HF has 4 levels of impact sockets. Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Pro, Icon and Quinn. I think the Pittsburgh Pro or Icon would be a good middle ground impact socket. Almost everything from Icon seems to be $54
How are ICON non slip wrenches? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Sep 16, 2024 · Any time we have to repair anything, it becomes an exercise in removing rusty hardware. My Snap on tools have little to no trouble but this truck is mostly if not all metric. Since I worked on mostly Cat and Cummins engines most of my mechanical career, all of my 1/2" drive stuff was SAE. I've been buying Icon to work on his truck. Stuff is ...

Icon Impact Sockets | BobIsTheOilGuy
Jan 3, 2012 · Looks like all the cheaper sets skip bigger sizes. I have no idea what sizes my Ford has. All the stuff I normally work on is SAE or uses smaller metric sizes. The truck is starting to get older so I want some tools around in case. Icon sizes: 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm, 21mm, 22mm, 26mm, 27mm
Snap on VS Matco | BobIsTheOilGuy
May 3, 2024 · I buy Carlyle or Icon over Matco. We caught our Matco dealer passing counterfeit Milwaukee batteries. Cornwell has decent hand tools, I have a 1/4 set that is on its second case, it has been exceptional for me. Icon same set is a mere $100.00 but it is not up to the Cornwell standard. Still a good deal for the money though.
