The IAR-99 can carry Python 3 air-to-air missiles, laser or infrared guided bombs or 57mm rockets. The avionics suite includes a data transfer unit which creates a simulated or virtual radar image for display to the trainee pilot in the front cockpit.

IAR 99 Șoim (Sokol) je enomotorno reaktivno šolsko vojaško letalo, ki so ga razvili v Romuniji. Lahko se uporablja tudi za jurišne napade in izvidništvo. IAR 99 je bil razvit kot naslednik češkoslovaških Aero L-29 Delfín in L-39 Albatros.
