It is not allowed to solvent weld pvc electrical conduit with wires already inside. And I would bet this gas pipe is too stiff to be pulled through conduit with bends.

Feb 15, 2024 · I believe you use pipe dope or teflon tape. Not both together. Removing both and then using just one should work. Add a picture of the fitting/threads. Some thread types do not need/use thread sealer.

If so, perhaps those joints were previously leaking and then repaired, so nothing more than perhaps a good cleaning is in order?
