You can still access the IMVU classic launcher. The only downsides are that the new devs have neglected it so much that it's severely outdated and crashes if you dont regularly clear the cache. Kinda killed my liking for IMVU anymore, well.. aside from the fact you now have to pay in order to have over 5 avatar look folders.

Dec 5, 2022 · At that point, IMVU scrambling to not lose their Mac users and simply churned out the beta earlier than they wanted to. I can understand, but we can all criticize them that they had years to figure this stuff out and they simply just kept slapping bandaids on the classic client until push came to shove.

Oct 7, 2022 · IMVU Next is the web browser but there is an option to download IMVU Desktop (Beta). It’s literally the web browser condensed into a program. There is also IMVU Studio for creators. In regards to key differences, I hate it. It’s clunky, hard to decorate and user-unfriendly.

May 8, 2022 · A friend says that there is a possibility that IMVU was slowly moving us to mobile/beta due to future updates by windows. The latest update would require apps to be on 64 bit, IMVU Client runs on 32 bit. If the time comes IMVU Client will no longer run, its sad really.

IMVU Desktop (was Beta), as well as the new IMVU Next (was Pulse) is laggy, has about 8 ad bots spamming your DMs with useless promo and now the site has third-party ads to prove the platform is dying. The devs at this point can't see what's going on here. They're too blinded with "new stuff" like it's Cartoon Network or something.
