IH was fresh off the 460/560 rear end debacle, and they were still using the 460's design for the 504 and 606 tractors. These tractors were pretty gutless, as the C153 and C221 engines were not known for massive power, so the rear ends were safe. May 5, 2014 · 606 is back together and heading home to my sons farm tomorrow morning. Engine went together well. Did the head. Rebuilt the carb. Since the block was hot tanked I also had the radiator cleaned. put the tractor together with a new clutch. Gave the clutch pedal some machine shop love so it lost the slop. New Brakes. New starter.
