Mar 13, 2017 · I recently meshed a model in ICEM CFD and imported the mesh in ANSYS FLUENT. On importing, I found out that the boundary conditions had been wrongly assigned. Specifically, there is a box. Currently the whole box is a single Part and has been assigned the same boundary condition throughout.

Jul 22, 2009 · Fluent and CFX are solvers whereas ICEM CFD is a mesher. Fluent and CFX are both highly capable of wind turbine simulations. Fluent and CFX can use ANSYS Meshing as a mesher or use ICEM CFD as a mesher. Fluent used to use GAMBIT as its geometry creation and mesher, but the new version is phasing that out.

Feb 13, 2012 · You can create named selections in DM which will come into ICEM CFD as parts, or you can just right click on the parts branch of the model tree in ICEM CFD to create a new part... Then just select which entities you want to add to the part. In this case, you have a 2D model, so you only want to add the surfaces to the fluid parts.

Nov 28, 2024 · ICEM CFD is a legacy application which has little training material and gets no new features. I moved away from ICEM CFD years ago and use their latest applications now. There is a lot of training material for Ansys Fluent Meshing (for Fluent CFD simulations) and Ansys Meshing (for CFX CFD and Mechanical FEA simulations).

Jul 8, 2010 · In ICEM CFD Hexa, if you scale down your geometry and you scale down your blocking by the same amount, the number of nodes on all the edges should be the same (don't change your edge distributions or use the refine/coarsen option, just scale the blocking using the transform options.)
