Jun 8, 2000 · SW13, SW14, SD20, GP10, GP11, GP40R, and SD40-2R are IC's model designations for rebuilt locomotives from Paducah Shops. IC 3140 is ex-CNW GP50 5051, acquired from National Railway Equipment. Externally it looks like a GP50, but has been derated to 3000hp and GP40-3 designation.

IC 6200,6201 and 6255 are listed as SD40-3's in the IC's computer. All the rest are listed as SD40-2's. IC 6253,6255,6256 and 6261 thru 6265 are painted in CN colo(u)rs with "I.C.R.R." (being changed to "IC") painted on the cab below the number.

CN SD40-2 (ex-IC) was shot at CN's former GTW yard. CN train M-344. CN 3?? Sitting in storage at the Hazel Crest shops. A great variety of CN-owned locomotives sit around the shops at Markham Yd. Not great photos at all, but worth keeping!

IC 6129 is a locomotive that I have seen and photographed a number of times. The Illinois Central bought a group of SD40-2s used from the Burlington Northern and rebuilt most of them without dynamic brakes.
