Nov 22, 2024 · Husqvarna used to have a "Camp Axe" that was made by Hults Bruk (the "Almike" axe head) on a lesser-quality handle, at a fraction of the Hults Bruk's price, struck with the Husky logo. I seem to recall it had a 15" handle. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be in the Husky inventory anymore! Anybody know what happened to this awesome little axe?

Apr 23, 2018 · so I got a Scandinavian Forest Axe and it has replaced both the Husky and the SFA, and I've since passed the Husky on to a young friend. if I need more chopping ability than the GB Scandi, I have a 1lb12oz Plumb head on a 27" West Woods handle and a 3.2lb head on a 32" House Handle.

The handle was alittle thick at the head, and the head was a little heavy for a 20" handle. Add to that ive wanted a sfa for a long time now but didnt have the cash so l decided to make my own...

Jul 5, 2015 · There is no comparison. The weight of the husky carpenters axe just out classes the SFA in limbing and chopping, it splits kindling or small fuel better. The SFA is awesome I love it, however trying to compare another well made Swedish axe that is .7 of a pound heaver is kind of useless. The heaver guy wins. The SFA lookes better.

Sep 15, 2010 · The husky is about $15 bucks more but I think it is a wetterlings actually so it might be worth the extra dough. The fiskars has a lifetetime warranty. My uses are varied besides being a backyard bushcrafter most of the time I do get out and hike and camp.

Apr 19, 2015 · I find a small hatchet like the Wildlife to be a little too small and easily replaced by a big knife. and sometimes the SFA to be a little too much but overall it's a great compromise between small hatchet/big knife and an axe. the Husky looks like it would split better than the Wildlife and would probably work really well combined with a saw ...

Feb 5, 2016 · I was in the market for a mid-size axe, something packable, and was trying to decide between a GF Scandi Forest Axe, Wetterlings Les Stroud Bushman, and Husqvarna Multipurpose Axe. Well, my decision was pretty much made for me, when I saw the Husky on sale at Amazon for $55 shipped last week.

Jul 19, 2013 · The Fiskars, on the other hand, could be used as a felling axe (albeit a very heavy one) if needed. It is balanced a little better IMO. Both are nice, though. (I must have picked up and put down the smaller Husky four or five times the other day before finally walking out without it.)

Apr 16, 2014 · I did a review/first impression of a Husky axe on here a few years ago. In it I showed how rough the grinds were and some other issues. I have since removed some of the pictures, but I'll see if I can find the thread. I would absolutely buy a Husqvarna! But.....I would go into it knowing that it is not a GB and will need some "attention".
