Apr 18, 2020 · Yes Huacachina is small but pretty touristy, so there are plenty of places to stay, both cheap hostels and higher-end hotels. You can also stay in the city of Ica which is nearby. Regarding nightlife, this was actually my favorite place to party in South America!

Jun 18, 2022 · Huacachina, Peru, is certainly deserving of your time! It's a small oasis town surrounded by massive dunes, which makes for a unique and awe-inspiring experience. The city is charming and laid-back, a nice break from the hustle and bustle of bigger cities. As for the day trip tour to Paracas, Ica, and Huacachina, I highly recommend it.

Do you think it's worth doing the full day tour from Lima then Paracas, Islas Ballestas, Huacachina then back to Lima, or just spend two full days and explore Lima?

Ive already purchased plane tickets, train tickets, and Machu Picchu Tickets for the Travel from Lima to Cusco, so trying to figure out how to plan for huacachina. Im hesitant to reserve our hostel in Huacachina being so uncertain of how to reliably plan get to huacachina lol.

Jan 5, 2024 · Before I go to Cusco (I'll be staying there most of my time in Peru for Spanish immersion), I wanted to see Huacachina first for a day - I saw this Peru Hop 1 day tour package (Paracas - Ballestas Island & Huacachina) for US$129 - includes all entrance fee, boat ride, dune buggy ride/sandboarding and bus rides. Doesn't include food expenses.

Yeah it’s really close to Ica but it’s totally all desert beyond Huacachina. It’s definitely a tourist trap but you can totally stand on top of a dune and see snow capped mountains in 1 direction and rolling sand dunes in the other direction.

Jun 14, 2018 · Driving from Lima to Ica can be a bit stressful, but it is doable. I would highly recommend making sure to drive only during the day while you get used to getting around Peru. And the bus would overall be my recommendation for getting to Ica. The buses in Peru are very nice, much nicer than in the states, Cruz del Sur in particular. Jun 22, 2024 · I see a lot of day trips from Lima to Huacachina that offer sand boarding. I’m a life-long sand skier and sand skiing is a dream of mine. If these trips say “sand boarding,” am I okay to assume this includes sand skiing as well?
