Star Children (星の子, Hoshi no Ko) are magical beings that appear in the film Howl's Moving Castle. They are shootings stars that could be summoned around Madame Suliman's magical circles and traps.

Howl Jenkins Pendragon (ハウル・ジェンキンス・ペンドラゴン, Hauru Jenkinsu Pendoragon) is a powerful wizard living in the land of Ingary. Originally Howell Jenkins of Wales, he was part of a loose fraternity of wizards on Earth.

Howl's Moving Castle[a] is a 2004 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is loosely based on the 1986 novel Howl's Moving Castle by British author Diana Wynne Jones. The film was produced by Toshio Suzuki, animated by Studio Ghibli, and distributed by Toho.

Calcifer (カルシファー , Karushifā) is a Fire Demon in a magical contract with Wizard Howl. He used to be a falling star, whom Howl was able to catch before he fell to earth and extinguished.

Howl’s mouth fuses with the center of the star, amorphous shapes of light extending outwards around him. When he has fully swallowed it, the liminal state of transformation ends and Howl appears to return to his original human state.

Howl's Moving Castle (ハウルの動く城 , Howl no Ugoku Shiro) is the 14th animated fantasy film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, produced by Toshio Suzuki and animated by Studio Ghibli. It premiered at the Venice International Film Festival on September 5, 2004, and premiered in Toho cinemas in Japan on November 20, 2004. [1]

May 16, 2024 · Calcifer's contract with Howl was explained more plainly in the original book - Calcifer was a fallen star, when a star falls they die. Calcifer was caught by Howl and in exchange for the powers of a fire daemon Howl kept Calcifer alive.

He’s also a playboy and has a rumor about how he will “tear out a girls heart” in regards to him being a heartbreaker although some really take it to heart (no pun intended).

May 29, 2021 · They're "stars" that fall from the sky and grant capable of magic. After Howl's heart is returned and Calcifer returns to say goodbye, he leaves. Sure he called himself a fire demon but I think that was because he was a flaming heart.
