Jan 25, 2019 · Like others mentioned, the 22-250 is a barrel burner (< 1,500 rounds) which can happen fast is you hit the range often. Tikka, Bergara, Howa, and Savage all make nice varmint rifles in 22-250 and pre-2007 Remingtons are usually very accurate as well.

I took the green Hogue stock off my Howa .223 Varmint and put it on my .300 Blackout barrelled Vanguard. I'm ordering a Boyd's thumbhole for the Varmint.

May 11, 2010 · At 800 yards I can see that logic. Even heavier bullets at the cost of velocity with compressed loads. But Howa is no different than any other factory manufacturer. You may or may not get a barrel that is more accurate at longer range with a small change in twist due to some acceptable and undisclosed manufacturing tolerance.

Gunbloke trigger spring and a KRG Bravo chassis with an arca rail and bipod spigot mount. Roughly 80 rounds down the barrel.
