Houndé is a city located in the province of Tuy (of which it is the capital) in the Hauts-Bassins Region of Burkina Faso. It is situated about 100 kilometres (62 mi) east by northeast of Bobo-Dioulasso along the trunk road Route Nationale N1 to Ouagadougou.

Located within the highly prospective Houndé Gold Belt (a +20 million ounce endowment along a 200 km corridor and host to the Mana Mine and Bantou Project), the Houndé Mine looks to meet the target of discovering 3.0 to 4.0 million ounces of Indicated resources over the next five years at a discovery cost of less than $19/oz.

It is the company's second-biggest gold mine, and accounted for nearly 30% of gold produced by Endeavour Mining in 2023. [2] Endeavour Mining first purchased the land on the site of the mine in 2012, and published a feasibility study for gold mining the following year. [1]

Houndé is an open-pit mine with a 3.0 Mt per year gravity circuit and carbon-in-leach plant. Gold recoveries average 93%. In 2024, Endeavour embarked on a $10.0 million exploration program focused on delineating targets at depth within the Kari Area and Vindaloo Deeps and to add resources at existing deposits.
