Hore Abbey (also Hoare Abbey, sometimes known as St Mary's) is a ruined Cistercian monastery near the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland. 'Hore' is thought to derive from 'iubhair' – yew tree.

Hore Abbey, Ireland’s last medieval Cistercian monastery, was founded in 1272 in County Tipperary, just west of Cashel. It was colonised by monks from Mellifont Abbey and comprised a cruciform church, tower, square cloister, and living quarters.

Hore Abbey is a cruciform Gothic church, tower and northern facing cloister, looking out towards the Rock of Cashel. Much of the abbey still stands, including the nave, aisles and transepts, sacristy, range and chapter house and chancel.

Not far from the Rock of Cashel is the Hore Abbey, which is a ruined Cistercian monastery in County Tipperary. If you want to go there, best just walk there from the Rock, it’s really close, and there are no real parking spots near the Abbey.

Hore Abbey can be seen when looking over the valley from the Rock of Cashel. Hore Abbey was founded in the 1270s by an order of Benedictines. It is hauntingly beautiful, placed in a meadow directly opposite the Rock.
