Three month prior to the end of the warranty my Honda Pilot 2012 had so called "Cylinder #1 misfire" issue (Plug #1 was oil fouled). There is a TSB (SB 13-082) regarding this issue and it involves costly (up to $5,000) repair.

This problem is also being reported on social media by other Honda CR-V owners who drive in colder climates. We are concerned that it is causing long term damage to the engine of our new vehicle. I caution prospective buyers to postpone the purchase of a 2017 or newer Honda CR-V with the 1.5 liter engine until Honda solves to this problem.

Honda America's support number -- to be found in your warranty book is 1-800-999-1009. They supported my request because my service record was impeccable as they called it. I went to the dealer for all service needs and therefore used the proper oil etc.

Do your best to buy genuine Honda parts as much as possible such as thermostats, water pump, belt tensioner, especially the head gasket.

I've heard of many older '80's & '90's Honda Accords, Civics, Toyota Camry, etc. getting high mileage with the original transmissions. If you didn't know '99-'03 Honda V6 transmissions are prone to premature failiure.
