Apr 24, 2013 · I decided I would try my hand at making my own rifle sighting stand. I had all the materials on hand so except for my time the cost was virtually zero. The front stand as you can see is a car jack with 14" of lift. I offset the barrel rest so it can be rotated for different lengths.

Aug 28, 2024 · I used Hoppes Bench Rest 9 but now use Butches Bore Shine. I don't think either would damage the barrel by leaving to sit overnight. Sweets 7.62 Solvent may be another matter. They specifically state to not leave in the barrel for more than 20 minutes. I've never used the Sweets because of the volatility.
