Nov 6, 2024 · HNBR is widely used in the automotive and petrochemical industries because of its durability under high temperature, fuel,oil, and chemical exposure. This makes HNBR an optinal material for the replacement of specialized rubbers like FKM (fluorocarbon rubber), CR (chloroprene), and other materials.

The AED O-ring adopts a special formulation process to greatly improve the high-strength performance of the rubber, so that it has strong tear resistance during the rapid pressure relief process under high pressure conditions, and has excellent resistance to petroleum gas and medium performance.

Its enormous tensile strength coupled with high resistance to heat and compatibility with hydrogen sulfide, corrosion inhibitors, steam and oil makes N4007A95 an excellent value solution for tough sealing problems like those encountered in blowout preventers and well-head applications.

Elast‑O‑Lion 985 is a general purpose hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR) with superior mechanical properties, outstanding abrasion resistance and excellent low temperature capability confirmed down to ‑55°C (‑67°F) in product configured testing.

These types of o-rings are commonly referred to as RGD, ED Resistant, or AED (anti-explosive decompression) o-rings. The most commonly used material for RGD certified o-rings is Viton® or FKM. However, RGD o-rings can also be made from HNBR, AFLAS®, and FFKM materials.
